Cantwell, an old stop on the Alaska railroad, is at the crossroads of the famous Denali Highway and the George Parks Highway (the main highway between Alaska's two largest cities, Anchorage and Fairbanks). Cantwell is also only 27 miles south of the main entrance to Denali National Park (formerly Mt. McKinley National Park).
